The lobby area has coat hooks for waterproofs and plastic trays to store outdoor boots and shoes.

 

There is also a public payphone for all users especially in the event of poor mobile phone coverage in the immediate area.

 

A cupboard to the rear contains general cleaning equipment.

The two large dormitories sleeping 14 and 12 persons respectively.

There are two bedrooms sleeping 4 persons in each and 1 single bedroom.

 

Sleeping capacity allows flexibility but users are reminded that only 30 people are permitted to stay during their reservation. This is a strict requirement.

 

All bunks have fire-resistant foam mattresses with regularly laundered fitted covers; pillows and clean pillowcases are provided but personal sleeping bags are required.

 

All rooms are fully carpeted and heated.

The large kitchen/dining area offers catering and seating facilities for up to 30 people with purpose-built, heated scullery adjoining  with five sinks, draining boards and work surfaces. There is also a spin dryer.

 

Tea towels are provided.

 

A door leads to the back garden and paddock via a covered patio with seats and a large barbecue. Barbecue tools are hanging in the scullery, adjacent to this door.

The lounge doubles as a common room. It has a wood-burning stove and seating in armchairs and sofas.

 

There is a projector screeen, a whiteboard, work surfaces with electric sockets and network points along with a small fiction and non-fiction library covering most subjects relevant to local area.

 

A large-scale map of the area covers one wall and there are pin boards for temporary displays of work and notices.

There are separate male and female washrooms which are accessed from the lounge.

 

Each of these lead to separate staff areas with showers, wash basins and toilets.

At the back there is a covered patio with seating and barbecue.

(Charcoal not provided).

 

The back lawn leads down to a small paddock.

 

The front lawn is screened from the road by a beech hedge and there is ample parking in front of the barn.

The purpose-built drying room, is found in the adjoining barn. Clothes may be dried overnight but users will need to feed a coin operated meter.

£5.00 will usually dry a complete set of group clothing overnight if spun and hung evenly.
